"No person has the right to condemn you on how you repair your heart or how long you grieve, because no one knows how much you’re hurting. Recovering takes time, and everyone heals at his or her own pace."Lessons Learned in Life

Founder Charlotte Kluge started Emmy’s Heart after the loss of her beloved Yorkie, Emmy, when she realized how real and extensive grieving can be. The group is for pet owners/parents that have had to say good-bye to a beloved pet or have an ailing or missing pet. Emmy’s Heart, meets at 6:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month at Abrams and Weakley General Store for Animals, in Harrisburg.

"There is no time limit on grieving as our pets are our family, our partners, our hearts and our friends. Our goal is to offer a warm, open environment for you to express your thoughts, feelings and beliefs without judgment,"" says Kluge.
