About Emmy’s Heart

Emmy’s Heart was founded by Charlotte Kluge a few months after saying good-bye to her yorkie – Emmy who was more like her child then a pet. She realized that the grief was real and that there was not support groups in the area to deal with pet loss. In May of 2014, the first meeting occurred and continues on a monthly basis.

Emmy’s Heart is a bereavement group for pet parents/owners who have an ailing or missing pet, or have had to say good-bye to a beloved pet. Grief from losing a pet is real and it can feel unbearable at times. We are here to walk beside you through your grief and to be a friend that understands your feelings are real and justified. There is no time limit on grieving as our pets are our family, our partners, our hearts, and our friends.

Our goal is to offer a warm, open environment for you to express your thoughts, feelings and beliefs without judgment.
